Memory of Colours and So Much More

Some things never get old, just like this beautiful floral editorial, which was published on Feb 2005 Vogue UK.

It's 5 years old, but 'till today I can't seem to get my eyes off of it's mix of sweet girly colours.

And I do miss those days when I was in love with cardigans. I practically live my days wearing tubes or tank tops with cardigans. And mind you, my cardigans were not just normal cardigans. They were magical, at least for the 18-year-old me.

They were babyblue with daisy-formed silver sequins, knitted pink with wooden buttons, warmest grey with orange dots, wool lilac with flowers embroidery, soft beige with lace, and some other beautiful pieces. Oh, how I wish I could have them back now.

This editorial really brings back the memory. I was once a girly girl. Well, I think today I still have that part of me hidden deep within. I'm still smiling looking at those beautiful flower headpieces (aren't they the sweetest things ever?), the beige cardigan with gold buttons, the beaded grey cardigan. How lovely.

I know that nude and black are the "IT" colour lately. But seriously, a little touch of bright colours never fail to brighten up the day, don't you think?

When Did I Last Post?

It was almost a week ago!

It should be my longest absence (last holiday absence doesn't count) . I felt so guilty and envious everytime I read all your posts. I have been super busy lately with work. So, forgive me my dears, I haven't got the chance to visit and drop some comments.

Blame my work, please.

I was absent from doing and TALKING about anything related to wedding also, which made Han so much relieved. Girls are always much more excited in this kind of things, aren't they? Guys just don't care about dresses, flowers, invitation cards, headpieces. (Sorry about the generalization, boys, but I think you should agree with me on this)

Last week, Han made a terrible mistake by saying (after I accused him of being less-excited), "It's not that I'm not excited. We just need to divide the duties. I'm doing the things I can do. I book the venue, book the pastor, while you can do the MINOR things, like DRESSES.."

NOBODY takes my dresses as MINOR things.

Luckily, he realized about his oh-so-wrong statement, and restated it at once. "I mean, you can do all the exciting things, like dresses. I know dresses are the most important thing in the wedding. I know that."

Hmm, good boy.

Anyways, I saw some dresses online, from Monique Lhuillier and Carolina Herrera (If I'm not mistaken)

I am thinking to get a simple tube dress, with a bit (or a lot) of lace. NO ball gown type.

Personally, I like the the first and the last ones. What do you think, guys?

Shocking

I just heard a shocking news yesterday, about Han's friend.

This guy, Jeff, was found dead after jumping down from his flat on 19th floor. He committed suicide. It's supposed to be a sad story, and I did feel quite sad about it. But the problem is this guy was not really lovable in his later days.

Two years ago, he loaned money from his friends, including Han, by telling sad reasons which were all lies. I tell you, it's not just small amount of money, tens of thousands of dollars. Yet, he never returned the money, 'till the day that he died. Not even a cent. He said he was cheated by a friend in a business deal and lost a lot of money, and then he needed money to keep his business survived. The funny thing was, right after he loaned money, his wife went to a trip to Taiwan. Like, WTH?!

Another funny thing, a year ago, he asked to meet up with Han, which ended up with him wanting to borrow 2,000 dollars more, which Han refused. Han said that at that time he (Han) was wearing a slightly torn tee (which I already asked him to throw away months ago) and a slightly torn bag (thrown away by me also), and that guy, Jeff, guess what, was wearing a Burberry shirt and a huge LV bag (which are authentic, knowing that he used to be quite well-to-do). I mean, WTH?!?! Okay, I mean, if he needed 2,000 dollars, he could just sell away those shirt and bag to a secondhand shop, or what. That's quite a lot of money, right.

Anyways, I know I sound really mean to someone who's dead already. Well, I was quite pissed, but after hearing what happened to him, I felt quite sad for him, really. He must have been going through quite a hell. Although still I cannot understand how someone would decide to end his own life, no matter how shitty life is. But well, what can I say.

Okay, enough with the sad story. I did another outfit shoot yesterday. The results are a bit shitty, but I will still post it, cos it took quite a lot of energy to do it. We took like 20 shots but none was good enough *sigh. These are the best I can get. I think I need to find a better location with better lightings, and train Han more, hehe.

Stripped tee : Zara
Cuffed black jeans : Vintage
Vintage look sling bag : Charles n Keith
Brown slim belt : bought in Beijing
Brown sequined flats : Tangs (can't remembere the brand)

Han said I needed a haircut. I do, my hair was too messy. He asked me to tie it up.

I bought these shoes a year ago, and I'm still in love with them. They are the most comfy flats I have ever had. I'm not really a heel person, especially in Singapore where you walk a lot. I prefer flats.

I love the sequined accent and the bow.

My new pairs of feather earrings from Ruby. Very cheap.
These bag was bought a year ago. It's not vintage, but I love how it looks like a vintage mom's bag. It's a bit small, so I don't use it a lot.
It's weekend guys, have lots of fun, okay!!

Just Give Me This

And I will live..

I love the idea of having huge windows, laying down on a sea of couch pillows, browsing through a stack of magazine, feeling the warmth of morning sunshine, or looking at the falling rain, sipping a warm cup of coffee..

Isn't it beautiful...
Oh my, I really do need a little bit of these to make my day...

Ps: I'm saddened by the current news of Daul Kim passed away. She was such an amazing model, and I really admire her as a great model, and as a quirky yet adorable person. You'll be missed, Daul. Hugs and love for her family..

I'm BLOWN AWAY

Can't believe it is actually from 2007 Vogue, they look so "in" (borrowing Heidi Klum's term), with a little vintage feeling (although 2007 is not considered as vintage), which makes it even better.

Isn't she lovely...

photos via starbucksandjane
She passed away two years before I was born, but her name is very familiar to my ears because my mom was her big fan, and her story was a constant bedtime story instead of Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. She told me how beautiful and how graceful she was.
I've seen her in some movie clips and yes she was extraordinarily pretty. I've seen her standing besides Prince Rainier III of Monaco. And she was the prettiest princess I've ever seen. But when i found these pictures, I saw her as a simple girl from Pennsylvania who was just having the time of her life, not as an Oscar winning actress, not as a princess, but just as a girl. And this side of her is even more attracting than any other sides. As lovely as Grace Kelly really was.

Unforgettable, that's what you are..

Well, I've never been a romantic, lovey dovey person, not even close. But this song is my 'classic' definition of romantic.
Unforgettable by the one and only Nat King Cole

Unforgettable, thats what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, thats how you'll stay
Thats why, darling, its incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, thats how you'll stay
Thats why, darling, its incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Sweetest yet simplest message of love I have ever known.
