Taking a step forward

Sometimes, taking a step forward is not as easy as it seems.
You might prefer to stay where you are.
Because that's where you feel comfortable.
You might prefer to step backward.
Because you don't want to lose what you have left behind.

But sometimes, taking a step forward is the answer.
You might not know what's ahead of you.
It might not be comfortable.
You might miss the things behind.

But one thing for sure, you're going forward.
You're reaching your goal.

So, take that one step forward.
One at a time, and you'll eventually find yourself running into your dream.

Start your Monday with a step forward, guys :)

a Little India

I've been trying to figure out how to make my (Blogger) images bigger. And I finally did it! Yay! I realize that I'm not a computer idiot anyway.

Here are a few photos to try out.

I snapped these along Little India, on our way to have some Chinese hotpot. Sounds weird. But Singapore's Little India is very near to Chinatown.

What do you think guys?

Next time, perhaps I'll post big-ass photos of food to droll over :)

Update : The Big Day is less than 3 months away!! I'm so excited. I really need to work harder to lose weight though (says a girl who gulped McDonald's Hot Fudge Sundae last night). Oh, me and some friends will be joining a Bollywood dance class next week. Haha. I have no idea how we're going to get through, but I think it will be fun :)

Summer oh Summer

Well, I guess it's finally the peak of summer here in Singapore. The weather has been crazily hot and humid. I can't force myself going out of the door wearing jeans or pants anymore. I have locked my cardigans and blazers inside the closet. There.

And now it's time for the summer dresses. Light material and soft colours, paired with minimal accessories and simple sandals. Aren't they just perfect for this kind of weather? Oh, and wearing up the hair into ponytail or bun, and I'm ready to go.

I found these dresses from J.Crew are perfect for sporting clean and simple summer look.

I really want them all!! Pretty, aren't they? What's your summer look?

*****

And, oh, I'm so glad to be back to the blogging world. Finally work is not taking much of my time, and I have time to do my own stuff.

For some of you sweeties who asked about my wedding preparations, it's going well so far, thanks :) I'm going to do fitting for my dresses next week, and I'm super excited :)

The groom hasn't found his suits though. But, he doesn't seem worried at all. Gah, if I were him, I think I will be worried sick. I mean the groom not only needs suits, right? He also needs the shirt, the tie, the shoes, and whatever that comes with it. And this groom of mine doesn't seem to care much about it. Oh well...

And the wedding is 5 months ahead! I really can't believe it...

I'm so excited and nervous at the same time..

I'm living in a song sung by you

I wish I could tell you with words, but no I can't. So, here's the best way for me to tell you how much work has kept me away from blogging.

How am I supposed to live without Post-it?

Have you ever felt sick in the stomach just by the sight of papers, I mean, stack of papers? I do.

My loyal bestfriends who are always there with me through (over)times. I forgot how many '69kcal' I have munched so far. By the way, they're green tea Kit Kats. Han bought them in Japan. I don't know whether they have these outside Japan or not. Do they?

A bottle of water. Actually lots of bottles of water. I sit almost all day during work, so water is very important. At least that's what I heard. When you sit most of the times, you have to drink a lot of water. Otherwise, it will harm your kidneys. Is that right?

I've been abandoning my wedding preparations. Will need to get back to it asap. For all of guys who have been asking about it, thanks for caring and asking :) It's going quite well so far, but yeah, there're always small details that need attention.

Currently I'm browsing for songs. March-in song, photo slide song, Han's song. Basically I'm listing songs. Han is going to sing in the wedding :) He's an amazing singer. I did fall in love with him because of his remarkable voice, although that's not the only reason. So, yeah, now I'm helping him to find the song. Any suggestion guys?

I'll list some of them here, so that you can comment :)
* I finally found someone - Bryan Adams and Barbra Streisand
* L.O.V.E - Olivia Ong
* You and I - Michael Buble
* Everytime I close my eyes - Babyface
* Wonderful tonight - Khalil Fong (originally by Eric Clapton)
* Unforgettable - Nat King Cole (My all-time fave!)
* With You - Josh Groban (I love this, but Han hate it)
* Beautiful Mess - Jason Mraz (This kinda reflect our relationship, but my sis said, "Why you call yourself a mess?" Well, she got a point there. But I still love the song.)
* You belong to me - Lifehouse (OST Shrek)

Guys, will really appreciate your comment and suggestions :)

Later!

News and Changes

I'm so glad to be back from this long hiatus, which turned out to be longer than I expected. I came back last Sunday, but then I'm down with flu, and a terrible stomachache. I was forced to stay in bed for three whole days. Today, finally I'm feeling much better :)

How are you guys?? I miss you all so much. Sorry for not being able to check out your posts lately, but hopefully I can catch up with all of you today :)

Meanwhile, I have some updates about the wedding.

I FOUND MY DRESS!!!

Well, not really found, I actually decided to have it made. The problem is, it's very hard to find a sweet and simple dress, the way I want it to be. Most dresses I saw in those boutiques and bridal studios are mostly ballgowns, with bling-blings ALL OVER it. That is such a big NO-NO for me. So, after a few trying, I finally decided to go to a fashion designer to design my own dress, and have it made from scratch. voila! I'm quite happy with the design. It's chic, simple, and sweet. Similar to one of the dresses I posted a few days ago ;)

One problem, I SERIOUSLY need to go on diet, if I want to look good in the dress.

Urghh..

Anyways, I had my hair permed.

Yes.

I was planning to cut my hair short, but my Mom didn't allow me because I'm getting married, and I need my long hair for that. I tried to remind her that the wedding is still 9 months away and my hair will be long AGAIN by that time. But she still insisted that 9 months will not be enough. So I gave up. I finally decided to have it permed. I didn't know how I came up with that decision. I'm not loving the result, though it's not really THAT bad. Oh well.

My mom promised me that I can do whatever I want with my hair after I'm married. She said she's even okay if I'm bald. I can't understand, what's wrong with getting married with short hair?

I need to let out one more thing that got me so pissed this morning. One colleague arranged a meeting for tomorrow, Friday at 6 p.m. HELLOoo?? It's weekend! and 6 p.m. is off-work!! Seems like somebody here needs to get a life.

Okay, okay, sorry for the random rambling. I'm gonna have to leave you all for now. Geez, a lot to catch up at work. Will talk to you again tomorrow, promise :)

Have a nice day, dears!!

When Did I Last Post?

It was almost a week ago!

It should be my longest absence (last holiday absence doesn't count) . I felt so guilty and envious everytime I read all your posts. I have been super busy lately with work. So, forgive me my dears, I haven't got the chance to visit and drop some comments.

Blame my work, please.

I was absent from doing and TALKING about anything related to wedding also, which made Han so much relieved. Girls are always much more excited in this kind of things, aren't they? Guys just don't care about dresses, flowers, invitation cards, headpieces. (Sorry about the generalization, boys, but I think you should agree with me on this)

Last week, Han made a terrible mistake by saying (after I accused him of being less-excited), "It's not that I'm not excited. We just need to divide the duties. I'm doing the things I can do. I book the venue, book the pastor, while you can do the MINOR things, like DRESSES.."

NOBODY takes my dresses as MINOR things.

Luckily, he realized about his oh-so-wrong statement, and restated it at once. "I mean, you can do all the exciting things, like dresses. I know dresses are the most important thing in the wedding. I know that."

Hmm, good boy.

Anyways, I saw some dresses online, from Monique Lhuillier and Carolina Herrera (If I'm not mistaken)

I am thinking to get a simple tube dress, with a bit (or a lot) of lace. NO ball gown type.

Personally, I like the the first and the last ones. What do you think, guys?

Wednesday's Random

Fe from Secret Dream-World by a Fashion Muse passed me this lovely award. Thanks darling! Fe is my first blogger pal, and she's been one of the sweetest friend I've ever had. And not to forget, she's SUPER talented. You can check out her blog, and you'll know what I mean.

And since all of my loyal readers here are dazzling, I pass this award to all of you who's reading this :) Oh, and boys, you too :)

And, I need some suggestion here. I want to buy moisturizer (Sorry boys, you can skip this part), but I don't know which brand should I buy. Girls, what moisturizer you all have been using? My skin is not really oily, and not dry. So, normal skin (duh!) I'm looking for those that's oil-free and better if it's anti-bacterial, since I have acne-prone skin. Would love to hear from all of you pretties :)

Oh, and I've been thinking about wedding theme. Since we're going to have a small and simple wedding, I'm thinking to have a color as the theme, with lots of flowers. So far, I've been loving FUSCHIA as a main, and perhaps a dash of other cheerful colors to lighten up. What do you think?

Aren't they lovely?

Sisters a.k.a. Wedding Planner

Am I supposed to be panic if my wedding day is like 285 days away, yet I haven't prepared anything?

Please tell me that it's still so far away, and I can relax for now..

I heard a friend who needed 2 years to prepare her wedding. Two-freaking-years?!?! I wonder where she held the wedding. Arctic?

Anyways, I'm quite grateful that I'm surrounded by a family who supports me 100%. They have no high expectations, no annoying requests. Seriously, I heard A LOT of wedding-go-bad stories, when family members quarrel and all. And that got me scared sometimes. But I always feel relieved everytime my Mom calls and says, "We don't have any request. We believe that you know what's good for all of us, and we support you." I mean, isn't that just sweet?? I seriously have the best family in the world! My Dad is supposed to be a strong-headed man, who stands strongly on his principal. But this time, he got no objection, no complain, no nothing. I am really surprised by that, and at the same time touched. OMG, I need to stop or I will cry. tsk.

Oh, and my two sisters are really excited about me getting married. Well, actually their first reaction is "I need to buy a dress!! What colour? You plan any theme?"

I mean, helloooo, your sister's here getting married. Your sister. Me. Making a big step in her life.

Of course, they finally got the sarcasm and then started to talk about MY dress. Hmm, better.

And they actually pronounced themselves "My Wedding Planner". They have been helping me to find photographers, bridal studio, and wedding venue. My Dad and second sis spent one whole day to do a wedding venue searching.

All my family has been a great help for me. And well, I really don't know what to do without them :)

And isn't it great to have sisters?? At least, you have someone to scream together with over those pretty laced dress.

I want to share with you all "me and my lovely sisters" pictures, taken during our last holiday :)

This is taken in Tretes, a small town up on a hill. Lovely weather, good food. We were in my uncles's villa's Orchid garden. Beautiful. Sorry for my pathetic face, I was having an irritating cold that day.

Posing in our hotel room in Bali. Me, sisters, and Oprah.

Our clothes are wet after playing at the beach. Bad news is, we forgot to bring change. So, we bought these jumpers. They're super comfortable.

Uluwatu. The view was wonderful. But it was scorching hot. You can see it in our eyes. We couldn't even open our eyes. And no, we could not wear sunglasses, 'cause there were monkeys there, and they LOVED stealing glasses.

Love Bali!!

Some blurry picture we took at home. I liked it though.

I was wearing my grandma's shirt. My sis was wearing my dad's shirt. Only my little sis wearing her own tee. She's always the good girl.

Taken right after I reached my hometown. Can you see the three super happy smile there??

Miss them so...
