Summer oh Summer

Well, I guess it's finally the peak of summer here in Singapore. The weather has been crazily hot and humid. I can't force myself going out of the door wearing jeans or pants anymore. I have locked my cardigans and blazers inside the closet. There.

And now it's time for the summer dresses. Light material and soft colours, paired with minimal accessories and simple sandals. Aren't they just perfect for this kind of weather? Oh, and wearing up the hair into ponytail or bun, and I'm ready to go.

And, oh, I'm so glad to be back to the blogging world. Finally work is not taking much of my time, and I have time to do my own stuff.

For some of you sweeties who asked about my wedding preparations, it's going well so far, thanks :) I'm going to do fitting for my dresses next week, and I'm super excited :)

The groom hasn't found his suits though. But, he doesn't seem worried at all. Gah, if I were him, I think I will be worried sick. I mean the groom not only needs suits, right? He also needs the shirt, the tie, the shoes, and whatever that comes with it. And this groom of mine doesn't seem to care much about it. Oh well...

And the wedding is 5 months ahead! I really can't believe it...

Liu Wen looks so gorgeous and elegant in this editorial. She has always been one of my favourite models. Not just because her name is similar to my Chinese name (Yes, I do have a Chinese name, given by my Grandma, but it's so rarely used. It's Li Wen).

[Okay, forget what I just said about the name thing. I know it's silly.]

I do think this editorial, styled by Stephanie Zhuge, captures the best side of her. So lady-like, yet so chic.

And I'm so into this kind of style lately. Anything with mini, girly skirts, paired with camisoles, tees or cute shirts and blazer. Dressy dresses and blazer. They just never go wrong.

Memory of Colours and So Much More

Some things never get old, just like this beautiful floral editorial, which was published on Feb 2005 Vogue UK.

It's 5 years old, but 'till today I can't seem to get my eyes off of it's mix of sweet girly colours.

And I do miss those days when I was in love with cardigans. I practically live my days wearing tubes or tank tops with cardigans. And mind you, my cardigans were not just normal cardigans. They were magical, at least for the 18-year-old me.

They were babyblue with daisy-formed silver sequins, knitted pink with wooden buttons, warmest grey with orange dots, wool lilac with flowers embroidery, soft beige with lace, and some other beautiful pieces. Oh, how I wish I could have them back now.

This editorial really brings back the memory. I was once a girly girl. Well, I think today I still have that part of me hidden deep within. I'm still smiling looking at those beautiful flower headpieces (aren't they the sweetest things ever?), the beige cardigan with gold buttons, the beaded grey cardigan. How lovely.

Chic at Every Price

This gorgeous editorial could be a compilation of my favourite day-to-day looks. Just like the catchy title, Chic at every price, I'm not a particularly branded kind of person, I like browsing through cheap indie boutiques, or sometimes some clearance sale section. You will never know what kind of treasures you can find there.

Anything with clean-cut blazers, fun and chic skirts, perfect-fit shirts, a little bit of stripes or floral here and there, loose jeans or pants, cute flats or stylish wedges, voluminous free-style hair. I totally can live with those only. Simply chic!

Han is on a business trip to Japan, again. I know it's only for a week, but still I feel kind of lonely without him, even for a day. I hate this feeling. And that explains my weird post title.

I've been spending my evening watching Korean drama with Han's sisters. I should say that it is highly addictive. The exaggerating, over-dramatic story is simply a guilty pleasure. If you're interested, you can watch "Brilliant Legacy". At first I thought the title is just ridiculous, well, I still think it is, but it's really good. Recommended.

Anyway, I just realised that I have some outfit pics that I haven't posted. It was a month ago, I think, when I was in Indonesia.

I took this picture inside my house in Indonesia. We have this small pool inside the house with some little fish inside. As you can see Indonesia is scorching hot. We have lotsss of sun there.

When Did I Last Post?

It was almost a week ago!

It should be my longest absence (last holiday absence doesn't count) . I felt so guilty and envious everytime I read all your posts. I have been super busy lately with work. So, forgive me my dears, I haven't got the chance to visit and drop some comments.

Blame my work, please.

I was absent from doing and TALKING about anything related to wedding also, which made Han so much relieved. Girls are always much more excited in this kind of things, aren't they? Guys just don't care about dresses, flowers, invitation cards, headpieces. (Sorry about the generalization, boys, but I think you should agree with me on this)

Last week, Han made a terrible mistake by saying (after I accused him of being less-excited), "It's not that I'm not excited. We just need to divide the duties. I'm doing the things I can do. I book the venue, book the pastor, while you can do the MINOR things, like DRESSES.."

NOBODY takes my dresses as MINOR things.

Luckily, he realized about his oh-so-wrong statement, and restated it at once. "I mean, you can do all the exciting things, like dresses. I know dresses are the most important thing in the wedding. I know that."

Hmm, good boy.

Anyways, I saw some dresses online, from Monique Lhuillier and Carolina Herrera (If I'm not mistaken)

I am thinking to get a simple tube dress, with a bit (or a lot) of lace. NO ball gown type.

Personally, I like the the first and the last ones. What do you think, guys?

Wednesday's Random

Fe from Secret Dream-World by a Fashion Muse passed me this lovely award. Thanks darling! Fe is my first blogger pal, and she's been one of the sweetest friend I've ever had. And not to forget, she's SUPER talented. You can check out her blog, and you'll know what I mean.

And since all of my loyal readers here are dazzling, I pass this award to all of you who's reading this :) Oh, and boys, you too :)

And, I need some suggestion here. I want to buy moisturizer (Sorry boys, you can skip this part), but I don't know which brand should I buy. Girls, what moisturizer you all have been using? My skin is not really oily, and not dry. So, normal skin (duh!) I'm looking for those that's oil-free and better if it's anti-bacterial, since I have acne-prone skin. Would love to hear from all of you pretties :)

Oh, and I've been thinking about wedding theme. Since we're going to have a small and simple wedding, I'm thinking to have a color as the theme, with lots of flowers. So far, I've been loving FUSCHIA as a main, and perhaps a dash of other cheerful colors to lighten up. What do you think?

Sisters a.k.a. Wedding Planner

Am I supposed to be panic if my wedding day is like 285 days away, yet I haven't prepared anything?

Please tell me that it's still so far away, and I can relax for now..

I heard a friend who needed 2 years to prepare her wedding. Two-freaking-years?!?! I wonder where she held the wedding. Arctic?

Anyways, I'm quite grateful that I'm surrounded by a family who supports me 100%. They have no high expectations, no annoying requests. Seriously, I heard A LOT of wedding-go-bad stories, when family members quarrel and all. And that got me scared sometimes. But I always feel relieved everytime my Mom calls and says, "We don't have any request. We believe that you know what's good for all of us, and we support you." I mean, isn't that just sweet?? I seriously have the best family in the world! My Dad is supposed to be a strong-headed man, who stands strongly on his principal. But this time, he got no objection, no complain, no nothing. I am really surprised by that, and at the same time touched. OMG, I need to stop or I will cry. tsk.

Oh, and my two sisters are really excited about me getting married. Well, actually their first reaction is "I need to buy a dress!! What colour? You plan any theme?"

I mean, helloooo, your sister's here getting married. Your sister. Me. Making a big step in her life.

Of course, they finally got the sarcasm and then started to talk about MY dress. Hmm, better.

And they actually pronounced themselves "My Wedding Planner". They have been helping me to find photographers, bridal studio, and wedding venue. My Dad and second sis spent one whole day to do a wedding venue searching.

All my family has been a great help for me. And well, I really don't know what to do without them :)

And isn't it great to have sisters?? At least, you have someone to scream together with over those pretty laced dress.

Uluwatu. The view was wonderful. But it was scorching hot. You can see it in our eyes. We couldn't even open our eyes. And no, we could not wear sunglasses, 'cause there were monkeys there, and they LOVED stealing glasses.

Miss them so...

My First Award!!

Just got this Beautiful Blogger Award from my dear blogger pal, Russ :) Thanks sweetie!! You guys should check out her blog here. She's such a sweet and talented girl. She's been a true inspiration for me, especially in living a healthy life. I'm sure you'll be inspired by her also :)

Anyways, for this award, I'm supposed to write seven confessions, which is really tough. I need almost half a day to complete this list. So, here it is :

1. My first crush was a cute classmate from primary one. Yes, I was only 7 years old. And I remembered that I really REALLY liked him. Is that normal?? Btw, I liked him for 6 years, until primary six, when he started to be a smoker, and he got pimples all over his face.

2. There were times when I was CRAZY about Backstreet Boys and Hanson (you all remember Hanson right, the Mmmbop boys?) I was such a big fan of them that I had my room's wall covered with posters and pin-ups of them. I literally screamed histerically when I saw them or their MVs on TV. Hmmm...

3. I don't like being criticized over the way I dress. Don't get me wrong, I do take advices, but I don't take critics. I will get very irritated when someone tries to change or control my style. I got my own style, and I'm happy with it.

4. I am seriously addicted to coffee. I'm addicted even to the smell of coffee. I don't think i can live a day in my life without it. And I'm very particular about it. I only drink hot coffee. I don't like any additional flavour in it, except for milk, cream, or caramel. On the top list of my what-to-get-for-my-new-house, I put coffee machine. And I'm really serious about it.

5. I'm extremely NOT photogenic. Among thousands of photos I took, I only got like, errr, 10 acceptable ones. Really.

6. I seriously think I have the BEST family in the whole world. I do. They are fun, sweet, and supportive. Whenever I'm around them, I can feel so much love and warmth. Something that not all people can feel, and I'm really grateful for that.

7. Last one, I have an important thing I want to share with you all. On the next post :)

Away for Holiday :)

Hello darlingss,

This will probably be my last post of the year, since I'm going on a holiday from tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to blog from my hometown, but I won't hope too much with the whole list of things to do..But promise I'll be back as soon as I come back to Singapore with a report of my holiday in my hometown and Bali (woohoo!!)

I'm gonna miss each of you here :(

Btw, I'm gonna leave you guys with this outfit post :)

Han just gave me this long-sleeved tee. He bought it few months ago for himself. It's Gap, by the way. So, few days ago I accidentally found this abandoned tee inside his closet. When I asked him why he never wore this superbly comfy tee, he told me to check on its label.

And you know what I found??? Guess!! But I know you'll never guess it right, so I'll tell you.

The label says, GAP Maternity!!!!

HAHAHA, can you imagine the poor boy checking (and trying) on tees from the Maternity section without even realizing it?? Hahaha..

So, after laughing at him for several minutes, I asked whether I can have it. He, of course, gave it to me wholeheartedly. Yayy. I LOVE it. It comes in the sweetest and lightest beige, with the softest and comfiest material.
